Komotion
was shown at at the NMDA Nationals held
at the Pacific Crest Classic Show in
Oregon on August 9th & 10th, 2003,
just a few weeks after we purchased him.
He was able to be entered and shown at
the last minute thanks to the hard work
of Wayne & Wendy Lyon as well as
Sharon Cooke. They really hustled to
get him entered, clipped, and transported
to Oregon in time for the Nationals.
He was shown in the 4 and over Halter
Gelding class by Kathy Loudamy and they
placed 4th out of 14 other entries. Wayne
Lyon showed him in Snigging where he
won 1st out of 12 other entries and in
the Green In-Hand Trail Class where he
won 3rd out of 20 other entries! Komotion
was also shown at the Calgary Stampede
World Miniature Donkey Show on July 7th,
2003, and was 5th in Halter Geldings,
5th in In-Hand Jumping, and 4th in Trail.
Komotion has been shown by Wayne in several
High Country Combined Driving Events
this year. They compete in a dressage
test, a cones course, and a marathon
over long distances and an obstacle course.
The vet must inspect all animals at the
start, in the middle, and again at the
end. The vet said when examining Komotion
after the event that if there was a fitness
award at the show Komotion would have
won it! The horses heart rate took a
long time to return to normal...Komotion's
was dropping as the vet was listening.
She said she has never had that happen
before....YEAH donkeys and hats off to
Wayne Lyon for doing such a fabulous
job of conditioning, training, and showing
Komotion. Thank you to Wayne and Wendy
Lyon and to Grant and Sharon Cooke for
making it possible for us to own such
a fine gelding!
