We had all been anxiously awaiting the birth of Tangerine’s new foal. She had been with Santana from Sept 20, 2005 until near the end of October 2005. We can truly say this little girl was well worth, what seemed like, a very long wait.

In the wee hours of the morning we watched one of the most perfect births we’ve ever seen. It was amazing how quickly everything went and what a beautiful bright copper little girl was presented. While she was still wet you could tell her color was a very rich sorrel. We named her Pennies From Heaven for her unusual bright copper color and she was our gift from heaven. This little girl was ready to show the world she was here. It did not take her long to stand, nurse, and begin to show off for all who were watching her on our barn cam. She entertained us for many hours running and jumping and crawling all over Tangerine. At times Penny would run so fast she was just a blur in the camera.

Pennies bloodline boasts of genes from her dad, My World Santana, and her mom, Windcrest Tangerine, with the Little Red Man pedigree. She proudly struts around showing off all the qualities of her breeding including that very loving Little Red Man personality. If you’ve ever had that bloodline you know about those adoring faces and eyes that look at you and say “love me”. Penny has it ALL...perfect bite, stocky body and legs, and lots of roaning in her legs and “cheeks”. You can’t help but notice her little off set star right over those big expressive eyes.

Penny sold quickly before we got her info posted or her graphic done. We really were debating on whether or not to sell her since she was a breeding we could use with our sires. This girl is a real prize!

What can we say other than Racer and Velvet had a girl that is absolutely “out of this world” gorgeous. We had, anxiously, been waiting for this little foal to arrive. Velvet had appeared to be in labor several times but each time it was a false labor. But, Wurly Gurly was well worth the wait.

Her foal coat appears to be black with no visible cross at this time. At first we thought she was a no light points baby but as she dried we saw that she has an intermediate muzzle with just a light smudge on the top of her nose but the bottom of her nose is dark. She has slight eye rings but they are not as big as her mom. We love the way those stocky legs support her stout little body. She has a short head with big ears that point to the stars with pride.

To sum up our opinion …….Out of This World!!!

Blushingly Beautiful” perfectly describes this little spotted girl. Her stocky body, wide chest, straight legs, and perfect bite give her that “ready for the show ring” look. She has an unusual rose dun color that causes you to Blush and take a deep breath when you see her. Her spotted pattern covers over half of her body making her very flashy. Blush has a personality to match all her physical beauty. She definitely has class, style, a heads up attitude, and a winning look in those eyes that show so much expression.

This little package was well worth the wait this year. She has caused lots of excitement at our farm. So many people have inquired about her after seeing her born on our Barn Cams. Even watching her playing in her stall at night with her mother is entertaining. She will be under Barn Cam 3 at nights for about another week. (click her to see her) As active and independent as Blush is, she is commanding the attention of all the other donkeys in the “nursery”.

Blush had only been born 9 hours when we got a call from someone who just had to have her! Yes, she sold very quickly, and Her proud new owner is flying in today, Oct. 8th, to meet her new baby. Bet she blushes when she sees her for the first time!

Punkin’ was born on the very last day of Summer. We had just bought some pretty mums and pumpkins to make a fall arrangement on our farm. We were going to work on it that day. After watching her mother spinning around the stall early that morning we felt sure we’d have a foal by noon so we didn’t plan on doing yard work after all. We were so happy when at 8:20 that morning Cherry had the most beautiful little dark sorrel (red) girl. We could hardly wait for her to dry so we could make sure she was dark red like we thought. When she dried she was a gorgeous dark red that reminded us of the dark orange/red mums and pumpkins we had just purchased. We’ve had several jacks in a row so we very excited to see this precious girl. She had won the Fall Foaling Contest for us so we decided to name our new beauty “Miss Punkin’ Patch 2006.”

It rained for two days so we would not let her out of the stall knowing full well her beautiful red hair would be covered in mud. As you can see, her hair does remind you of the colors of fall. Punkin’ has a very playful personality so getting her to stand in one place for pictures has not been easy.

Both parents have a great pedigree, conformation, nice round hind quarters, and a stocky frame which they passed right on to Punkin’. I must tell you she is a snuggler and she walks right up in your lap and looks at you with gorgeous heavily lined eyes.

This girl has what it takes to go in the show ring and leave with the blue ribbons. She will make an excellent addition to your herd.

While driving some unfamiliar road, have you ever seen a farm, house, or a barn, that makes you slow down, or even stop, to take that second look? They have appeal that is evident from the road. Kurby has that same affect on you. Within a split second he has drawn you to stop and take that second look. You see his short coupled body, stout legs, wide chest, beautiful heavy red hair, and a face with many expressions. He has a curiousness about him which keeps you entertained as he explores his surroundings.

Kurby kept me on the move while trying to get his pictures. He was going everywhere introducing himself to trees, flowers, driveway, leaves, and whatever else was within his sight. All I could do was laugh as I tried to stay with his fuzzy little rump and out guess his active little mind for his next move.

What a delight! This little guy is one of the sweetest little fellows we have ever seen. He became our best little buddy the very night he was born. No other name would do for him but “Buddy”. If you had the pleasure of seeing him under our Barn Cam, you know exactly what we mean. His mother, Circle C Miranda, and Buddy were right under foot at all times. Being in their stall to visit or clean was always play time as he would run, play catch, go under his mother’s tummy to get to us on the other side, knock over the muck bucket, while Miranda would stand on the muck rake after she had backed up for us to scratch her bottom. We got lots of sugar from little Buddy. He is so very affectionate and adores being with people.

Everyone thought we named him “This Bud’s For U because his dad is Circle C Corona, Not true…he got his name simply because he would make U the best little buddy you’ve ever had. His winning personality and his cute antics have you wanting to pick him up to just hug and squeeze him. Buddy has a fantastic pedigree which was passed right along to him. Take a look at his sire, dam, grand sire, etc. Each of them has passed along their conformation, great looks, pedigree, and show like qualities.

Introducing….Black Tie Affair!! What an exciting afternoon we had watching the birth of Fina’s new black foal. We had been so anxious for her to have this foal since she was bred to Itsy Bitsy Burro Co. Majestic, a black 31.5” jack. Well, Fina and Majestic, both from Big Woods Farm, certainly did not disappoint us. This little fellow arrived with a textbook deliverey. He was all dressed up in his shiny black suit like he was ready to go to a “Black Tie Affair”.

I could not believe my eyes. He is so black and shiny he looks like he is made of patent leather. I told Bob I was going to take this boy to the annual New Year’s Eve Party because he cleans up better than Bob.

Ty even has dark eye rings making it hard to see those big black eyes looking lovingly back at us. He does have some white inside both ears. Talk about stocky, straight, with a perfect bite, and a fantastic pedigree behind him. He has been born with all the attributes to attract those jennets. Check out his pedigree below as it is awesome. We’d like to thank Tom and Deby for selling us such a beautiful and extremely sweet jennet, Fina. She makes such a nice addition to our herd.

A WISH COME TRUE! I thought Meggie would never have this foal. We bred her to Cimmaron, our sorrel herd sire, hoping to get a compact little jennet with both sorrel and black/brown in her pedigree. Never in our wildest dreams did we think we would have to wait 13 months, 7 hours and 50 minutes. I know the exact time because I wrote all the info down so I could see if and when she was due to come back in season. Cimmaron bred Meggie one time and I took her out. She never came back in season so she took her own sweet time having her first baby.

Genie is everything we were "wishing" for and more. She is very compact, straight, bite is right on, and has such a precocious personality. She is the spitten image of her mother, Meggie, which is great. I had her in the yard the other day to get pictures and she would not stand still for a second. She ran and played and it was all I could do to breath in this 100 degree Tennessee humidity.. I will try again this weekend because we are so anxious for everyone to see this little girl. She is truly a heart stopper. She will be for sale...keep checking back for better photos. The two photos above were the only two our witchmaster deemed worthy of her! Another classic by Racer

The moment we saw this little fellow we knew he was very special. He was so elegant that he reminded us of a fine work of art. He is so black that it is very hard to see all of his great features. At this time, he has no visible cross in his foal coat, but that could change over time.

Rembrandt is definitely a heads –up donkey with such a loving personality. His legs are nice and straight, his bite is perfect, and he has such a regal air about him.

We all know about Santa and the magic of Christmas. Shortly before Christmas Eve a lot of donkey breeders get notes from Santa telling them to put a few special donkeys in their barns on Christmas Eve. He likes to travel over the barns peering in to find just the right donkey for special boys and girls. We were so lucky this year to have Santa choose Rembrandt to go to a very special young lady that we already knew and loved. Santa took Rembrandt to Katie's barn and left him there for her to find on Christmas morning. We are so happy for Katie and Rembrandt to be the special ones chosen this Christmas. Another Christmas MIRACLE!!!!

Now this is one little charmer. She is so friendly but has a real problem with her mother, Fancy, being extremely jealous. Fancy has been so spoiled since she came to Wit's End and she keeps demanding ALL the attention. She has been an excellent first mom, a bit protective, but more jealous than anything else. Before she let's us get near May-zie she must be petted, scratched, brushed, etc. We have to sneak around her head or back to pet the baby. May-zie is such a beautiful blush color and just full of herself. In order to get pictures we had to secure Fancy and let her throw a royal fit. May-zie is very tiny, has a great set of straight legs, a perfect bite. and just a cute pint-size package. She will be going out in the nursery with the other jennets and their foals so, hopefully, Fancy will have other things to worry about than her little girl. I have several jack foals out there that will absolutely love this little blonde girl.

May-zie will make a great addition to someone's herd who loves that light sorrel coat. They almost look pink/blush at times. You can see Fancy's color and she has truly spit herself out in this little gal.

Racer and Ebony sure did a fantastic job on this little guy. Pacer looks so much like his sire when he was little. He has his same drafty body, his firm set mouth, nice round hindquarters, straight legs, perfect bite, and stands with that "look at me attitude". He has so much class and style in that NLP face plus he has that same gentle personality that Quarter Moon Ebony and Racer posses. We look forward to watching this foal mature.
